Going to another country every summer of my life growing up

Ive had several mini summer romances, some were and stayed innocent crushes and others sprouted into a full blown romance depending on what age I was at the time and my own self confidence. At the incredibly wise age of 20 I am now back in spain and currently having a life changing realization - summer romances are stupid unless you're a guy or an emotionally muted woman. Yes sometimes they occur at the perfect time, when you need that little extra confidence boost that is somehow only achieved through getting attention from an extremely attractive member of the opposite sex(or whatever gender you're into for that matter) but there's the possibility of finding yourself completely enraptured by someone in which this situation your only options are either drop your life and move to the same country or learn to appreciate the feelings as a warm weather induced love bubble. The thing about summer romances is as much as they seem to hold a ton of future possibilities they are supposed to stay just that, a summer fling meant to create sweet memories that you can look back on and use to figure out which summer was which. It's easy to get attached, to start assuming that it could work beyond summer, that it could melt into the year and a long distance relationship will flourish into what could end up being a happy ending and a unique story for the future grandkids. But these daydreams generally, at least for us nonfairy tale protagonists, remain daydreams and we have to teach ourselves to differentiate and separate dreams from reality. Reality being even in the heat of things, summer romances are simply meant to be a seasonal fling.
