coming to terms...
i wish i didn't,
i wish it came easily to me like so many other people,
i wish i was super intelligent but of course i'm not,
instead i just really suck at school .
i hope this doesn't mean that im dumb, or going to suck at life...
i wish it came easily to me like so many other people,
i wish i was super intelligent but of course i'm not,
instead i just really suck at school .
i hope this doesn't mean that im dumb, or going to suck at life...
please

to where the beaches are empty, the water is see-through blue, the sand is soft and warm,
the skies are baby blue with random puffs of clouds here and there, where the plants are sparse and dry and the trees are tall with drooping branches, giving the sheep and goats shade under the summer sun...
i want you to know
it's funny-when i'm walking outside i get a sweet, quick scent of wood and youre special smell, it always catches me off guard but once i realize that it just means you're there with me, i feel a wave of reassurance and my heart warms up. there isn't a month that goes by that i don't think about you, and how sweet of a human being you had been. when i try to explain you to friends, i just say 'grandpa' and leave it at that because that's what you were to me; my grandpa. i never got the chance to let you know but you truly left a mark in my life, i will always and forever remember you and that beautiful house that you built. the one time that we stayed in that house, after you passed away, i could feel your presence but i also felt so unbearably sad that i couldn't just climb out my bedroom window and say hi to you, that i wouldn't hear the zoom of your red scooter or of you hard at work building or painting something. i miss your smile and your voice. your house is the one place, the only place, i can remember being completely happy, feeling completely whole, and i thank you for giving me that house and those memories. from feeding geckos and cats, 'cooking' food, eating kiwi, looking at the stars with my papi on the roof, making houses of the hollowed out bushes, adventuring in the beach below to getting a bead stuck in my nostril, i will never forget my summers in your home. and you.
love always, sofi

easiest, and best way to to live life
I was so wasted
I was a hippie
I was a burnout
I was a dropout
I was out of my head
I was a surfer
I had a skateboard
I was so heavy man, I lived on the strand

beautiful creatures

i am only angry at one thing, but that one thing is a huge problem that unfortunately, seemingly, will never go away completely. this bothers me everyday and i feel as if not many people think about it.
i'm angry at humans, at how selfish they are and how they kill these beautiful, majestic animals for completely inhumane reasons. and those who arent directly hurting these animals are indirectly doing so, some without even realizing it, we invade their space, take up their resources, kill them when we think they're too aggressive (but in truth WE are on THEIR land, they have no way to tell us to leave them alone, they can't speak up, they can only act out) shoot them for game, imprison them and to think, these animals were here first. polar bears are drowning because of the pollution humans have caused, they're need for more and more, its all adding up and the animals are feeling it worse, they're getting the brunt of OUR problems, OUR wars, OUR selfish endeavors.
Ghandi said, "Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed."
if only more people will open their eyes to this truth and try to be more understanding, more caring and affectionate to those who can't speak for themselves.
